Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan.

Unforgotten, the cold case detective drama, returns for season four on ITV tonight. The first series started in 2015 and since then has grown in popularity, especially since it has now been added to Netflix. The new series looks to raise some difficult and personal questions for the crime-solving duo, so we can expect many more twists and turns to the storyline. Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar lead the cast, reprising their roles as the two central detectives, DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan. The new series sees Cassie and backpack-toting Sunny facing a historic murder case and unearth long-buried secrets in pursuit of justice, with Cassie additionally grappling with personal problems at home.

There is nothing we love more on a Sunday here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. Each Sunday we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our Toaster friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite

Granny Versus The Sky Q Box

Here at Jammy Toast, we have upgraded our Sky Box from the Sky+ HD to the new and wonderful Sky Q. We finally took the plunge after listening to Idris Elba going on about what the Sky Q box can and can’t do for months. Our major hesitation here at Jammy Toast was just how would Granny get on with the new box – there are several changes from the old boxes. As we all know, Granny doesn’t always get on with things changing and she can be terribly set in her ways – especially where technology is concerned.

Today we are going to ask everyone who visits Jammy Toast to just “Talk Shit”. It has become a bit of a Jammy Toast tradition whereby we ask everyone who visits us to leave a comment on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit, as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone’s feelings. We usually ask you to do this because we are too lazy to think of anything else to post. However, people generally enjoy the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are simple to explain – anything goes!

Auto-playing adverts, unwanted message pop-ups, prompts to update unwanted software – it often feels like your PC is under attack from Klingons on the starboard bow. Windows 10 is supposed to have more built-in protection than ever before but it all counts for nothing when web advertisers and developers keep finding new ways to circumvent them. I think it is time to take back control. So, over the coming months, I will be offering advice on how to stop even the most invasive of attacks on our peace of mind and even our sanity. From today, we take back control of our own PC’s

Happy Tenth Anniversary Larry

We weren’t back online in time to wish our old friend Larry a happy tenth anniversary on Monday. Larry the Downing Street cat, has spent ten years upstaging prime ministers, US Presidents, and world leaders from all the corners of the globe. I can’t help but wonder, if after ten years on the job that he knows exactly where the TV cameras are and where to position himself so that he regularly appears on new bulletins to upstage any major political event. As the UK’s top purrlitical celebrity (see what we did there?), Larry posed for photos on the tenth anniversary of his arrival at Downing Street from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Hello Again

As Neil Diamond once said, “Hello, again, hello. I just called to say hello. I couldn’t sleep at all tonight and I know it’s late but I couldn’t wait…” Six months ago I relaunched Jammy Toast having decided, after fifteen years, that the beast that was our blog had got too big and unwieldy to manage easily. I transferred all the old posts onto Classic Toast and started again, with the help of Andreaa, here on Jammy Toast. Then last week it emerged that we had been conned by some mystery person who pretended someone else’s work was theirs and posted it here on Jammy Toast. That really pissed me off, so much so, that I closed Jammy Toast for a while, to have a think and decide what I was going to do about it. Now I have decided the way to move forward.
